Originating around 200 BC in China, this preserved tofu boasts a salty, spicy flavor with a soft, almost paste-like texture reminiscent of blue cheese. When fermented extensively, it develops a robust taste akin to strong Camembert. What sets Furu apart is its exceptional shelf life, lasting for months, if not years, in its brine.
